Cards of the Week: 7/27 – 8/2/2020

Wide Open (Enchanted Map Oracle)

Five of Swords

For those of you who are new to this blog, I'm pulling a couple of cards each week asking the question~~What do we need to know collectively this week to stay in alignment with our highest good?

The energy this week should keep us all on our toes. Swords in Tarot are associated with the element of air and also with thoughts and the intellect. Fives are usually about some sort of chaos and conflict~~we have plenty of that in the world right now.

The Five of Swords encourages us to look at the cost of victory. The man with all the swords in this image may be the victor but what has he really won with his aggression. Could we, instead, look for common ground, consider whether the goal is worth the cost?

The oracle, Wide Open, is an encouragement to see the opportunities that are present. The guidebook says, "You are free to express your uniqueness in the world and share in all the bounty of life's endless possibilities."  This means all of us can expand our horizons and share in those endless possibilities. New ideas are being supported at this time but keep the Five of Swords in mind and be wary of winning at all costs.
